“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me…Truly God has listened; he has given heed to the words of my prayer.” Psalm 66:16,19
On January 3rd our twelve year old granddaughter, Ada Grace, was struck down with an illness called Transverse Myelitis, which paralyzed her from the breast bone down. In midFebruary her right foot and leg started to come alive again. But her core muscles and left leg and foot have still been asleep. She’s a fighter and continuing to go to physical therapy 3 times a week, she has been working very hard. And now, suddenly, We have great news! This past Friday afternoon we received the overwhelmingly good news that her left knee bent by itself while she was at physical therapy. It seems too good to be true. But God does hear our prayers. I knew each day as I lifted her up to Him, that He did hear me. But I didn’t know if God would answer my prayers the way I wanted Him to; if she would be healed or not. We kept praying! You kept praying. Lots of folks were praying. We stormed the gates of heaven. We don’t know if someday Ada will be completely healed, or not. We trust that she will be! The question we ask is why are some people healed and others have to live with infirmity? We don’t knave the answer to those questions. We know that God works blessings out of the trials we face. God can bring good out of everything that happens to us. We can grow and are strengthened in our faith as a result of the trials in our lives, keeping our eyes and trust in God. Do not be discouraged by the fact that many of your prayers are yet unanswered. Time is a trainer, teaching us to wait upon Him, to trust Him in the dark.
“Blessed be God, because He has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfast love from me.” Psalm 66:20
